Meet the Mummes

Rev. Mark William Mumme was born on December 18, 1965 in Fairmont, MN.  Under the spiritual care of the late Rev. Dr. Arthur Drevlow, he became a child of God through Holy Baptism at St. John Lutheran Church (St. James, MN) on January 2, 1966 and was confirmed in the faith on April 27, 1980. 

Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Mathematics from Concordia College (River Forest, IL) in 1989.  After graduation, he worked as a computer analyst at State Farm Insurance (Bloomington, IL) for seven years.  In 1996, he began his studies at Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, IN) and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2000.  For the last seventeen years, Pastor served the people of God at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (Hardwick, MN).

Pastor and Beth were married August 24, 1991 at Zion Lutheran Church (LaMoille, IL).  She also attended Concordia College before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis College of Nursing (Peoria, IL) in 1991.  Beth homeschooled their children through eighth grade, and later became active with various roles and responsibilities at Zion (Hardwick).  Pastor and Beth are blessed with three daughters and one son.

Melinda (23) married Nathan Knop in August, 2015 and graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon, WI) in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.  She currently teaches fourth grade at PACT Charter School (Ramsey, MN). 

Cora (21) will graduate this coming December from Bethany Lutheran College (Mankato, MN) with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, with minors in Graphic Design and Art History.  On New Year’s Eve (2017) she will marry Anthony Miller at Zion (Hardwick).

Emma (18) graduated from Luverne High School (Luverne, MN) this past June and will be attending Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon, WI) to study social work.  She looks forward to continuing piano lessons and possible involvement in other music opportunities.

Will (17) will be a junior at Riverton High School this fall.  In the past, he has enjoyed being active in band, choir, baseball, and working for local farmers.  He plans to continue private trumpet and piano lessons, and looks forward to becoming a part of the community.
